This space is for sharing current efforts, experiments, and interests. I'm most excited about two current explorations focused on communication that transcends language and culture.

SYNESTHESIA: A phenomenon that causes sensory crossovers, like perceiving colors when exposed to sounds.

The idea of experiencing the world like that is so intriguing. The work below is the first attempt at trying to create this phenomenon for myself and future viewers. RUMBLE 1 is the first experiment in cross-referencing theories of music and visual art. This work, inspired by Link Wray's "Rumble", marries an octave's 12 tones and semi-tones of musical theory with the 12 basic values of color theory.

Future exploration will work towards a more immersive experience.

Lived in Translation: This evolving series explores layers of culture, language, and experience. Most languages have words that defy direct translation; true understanding can only be atttained within the context that word calls home. I believe that we are all capable of knowing these words, regardless of linguistic abilty, because our commonality begins just below "skin deep".
